Come learn about the case of a sulcata tortoise that nearly drowned but was saved by an unusual treatment method using a hyperbaric chamber. Zoological Medicine resident, Dr. Corinne Mayer, will speak about this fascinating case.

The Tales From the Field program series shines a spotlight on the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine by sharing stories that exemplify our Vision, Mission, and Values. "Tortoise in a Tube: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy to treat Near-Drowning in a Sulcata Tortoise" will highlight the school’s Vision of “Bettering lives through education, public service, and discovery.”
